New year Celebration
02.06.2021
In recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Bamenda City Council is proud to join the global movement in raising awareness about breast cancer and its early detection. The 2021 campaign serves as a reminder that early detection can save lives, and every community member has a role to play in promoting health and wellbeing.
Breast cancer is a disease that affects thousands of women and men globally, and Bamenda is no exception. With early diagnosis, the chances of survival are significantly higher, which is why this year’s campaign is focused on educating the public, particularly women, about the importance of regular screening, self-examination, and seeking medical attention if necessary.
Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer among women, and many lives can be saved if the disease is detected early. This campaign is not just about awareness—it’s about empowering people with the knowledge and resources to take action for their health and the health of their loved ones.
“Our fight against breast cancer is a collective one. By standing together, supporting each other, and spreading awareness, we can save lives and offer hope to many,” said the Lord Mayor.
Together, we can create a healthier, stronger Bamenda. Let’s fight breast cancer with knowledge, compassion, and action.
